Michael founded the team in 2016 and coordinates it since. He was a speaker at a Civil Society Forum, facilitated by Flemish Refugee Council and ECRE in Brussels, 2017. He participated in Advanced ELENA Course 2017 as well as multiple other trainings and courses on asylum law.
Mobile Info Team (MIT) usually consists of ten to fifteen (legal and translator) volunteers from across Europe, delivers legal information through social media and visits refugees in camps and on the street.
Their focus is on help with obtaining the right documents for asylum procedures and family reunification cases, mostly for unaccompanied minors in Greece. MIT also provides an information line where asylum seekers can request tailored assistance for their asylum questions.

Now that the Mobile Info Team for refugees in Greece - الفريق المتنقل لمعلومات اللاجئين is restricted in their face-to-face work, they have elegantly managed to deliver their legal services from a distance. Their legal information posts in the past days have reached over 500.000 people (thanks to your donations to advertise them!!), making sure all beneficiaries know what to do during this crisis.

Pregnant women and children are among the most vulnerable refugees living rough in abandoned buildings in Thessaloniki. The mobile info team has discovered asylum seekers are being turned away from camps in Northern Greece due to over crowding. Michael and his wonderful team are working tirelessly on the ground helping to organise proper accommodation for these people. Want to help? Please share this story far and wide. Help us to increase the pressure on the Greek authorities to find enough reception spaces that are up to the standards set out in European law to protect these refugees. Also in the past month, our hero Michael Kientzle and his Mobile Info Team for refugees in Greece - الفريق المتنقل لمعلومات اللاجئين have done an amazing job! Today we'd like to highlight a part of their amazing work: providing information through their hotline!
Since 2016, HAN has provided more than 80 tons emergency supplies like blankets, food and medicine, mostly donated by our partners and supported more than ten Heroes in Thessaloniki, Samos, Patras, Calais and Bosnia amongst others. HAN spends 100% of funds on its goals and are matched 50-100 fold in value (8 mio Euro’s) by donations in kind and contributions by other NGO’s.
