NOW_councilwoman Moorman

Last Thursday we were very happy to welcome Amsterdam councilwoman Marjolein Moorman to our distribution projects in the North of the City. We are extremely grateful for the support of the municipality of Amsterdam. Thanks to them, and the Funds who finance the lion share of the project, we are able each week to feed 10.000 residents of Amsterdam who lost their income because of the pandemic.

NOW_cooperation is the key to success!

NOW_1.088 dry babies!!

Remember this: Because of Covid, 1.000+ babies are growing today in Amsterdam, in such poverty that their parents depend on food aid and cannot afford basic hygiene items!!!!! Together with the Red Cross, we bought nearly 200.000 diapers to keep them dry!

NOW_ refugees living outside in cold Greek winter

Winters in Northern Greece are harsh, temperature drops below zero with strong winds. This person is undocumented, the asylum offices are closed. He lives (among many) in abandoned train wagons in Thessaloniki.
Wave - Thessaloniki is the only chance to get anything at the moment. They supply many of these people with sleeping bags, thermal underwear and a warm meal.

This is what we supplied since last March, to the projects distributing food to families deprived of their income by the Covid crisis in Amsterdam. We currently weekly deliver 2.800 packages, that is between 25 and 30 tons of food each week!

NOW_a new project!

We are very proud to support the Jepi Makandra ,(Help each other’s in Surinam language), project from the two awesome Claire Wie and Micha Puma. Not only do they support 100 families deprived of their income by the Covid pandemic with weekly food packages, but they also advise them on how to cook the less familiar vegetables they distribute. Who knew that chicory could be delicious?????

NOW_Computers!!!

We have started distributing the computers generously donated by IFF, International Flavors and Fragrances and the awesome brothers Mustafa and Hudaifah al-Harazi. The first ones went to a deaf gentleman, a family needing one for their children online schooling and NGO De Moeder is de Sleutel, (The Mother is Key), who assists vulnerable youngsters with homework.

NOW_Christmas for the homeless street cleaners ❤️❤️❤️!

Thanks to volunteer extraordinary Maxi Hager and her small (but mighty!) assistant Riley. Not only do they cook lunch two times a week, but they also collected money to buy socks, face masks, gloves, hygiene items and tons of sweets 😍😍😍!

NOW_ Sophie Gédéon & her Med'EqualiTeam need volunteers on Samos!

In January, there are still more doctors, nurses and other medical personnel needed on Samos to provide basic medical care to the <4000 refugees on the island. Living in a camp made for only 650 people, the conditions are extremely tough for those refugees without formal housing living in makeshift tents in winter - and their health is suffering due to this!

In October 2020 Mobile Info Team has generated 85.000 interactions with their posts and more than 160.000 views. Mobile Info Team, led by our Hero Michael, supports refugees and asylum seekers in Greece with vital information and assistance for the full duration of their asylum procedure.

Thanks to a collaboration with our friends from Christian Refugee Relief we have been able to buy nearly 50.000 diapers! We have shared them between the different communities we are currently supporting with a weekly food package in Amsterdam.
