Back to the overview of supported projects
Hope has been in and out of Thessaloniki for the past years whilst completing her Masters. She has 5+ years of experience in humanitarian projects, having worked in Bolivia, Nepal, and the UK.
Introducing herself, Hope says:
“Using my organisational skills is a big part of my role in this project. I oversee vital collaborations with other local NGOs to improve service provision for our population, as well as organise and apply for funds, oversee volunteer wellbeing and safeguarding, and assist with day-to-day operations. A lot of my work is in the background and behind the scenes, I see myself as a key figure in ensuring the project runs smoothly on a daily basis, and is able to continue and grow in the long term.”
Wave is a group of volunteers with the goal of providing for the essential, often overlooked needs of people on the move, left out of the system. They are an independent group of volunteers who serve in solidarity and fight for equality.
Since 2016, HAN has provided more than 80 tons emergency supplies like blankets, food and medicine, mostly donated by our partners and supported more than ten Heroes in Thessaloniki, Samos, Patras, Calais and Bosnia amongst others. HAN spends 100% of funds on its goals and are matched 50-100 fold in value (8 mio Euro’s) by donations in kind and contributions by other NGO’s.
