A nurse with experience in emergency and paediatric intensive care

'Hi, I’m Noleen. I am a nurse with experience in emergency and paediatric intensive care. Previously I was Field Coordinator for FAST in 2020. Healthcare is a human right and nobody should be denied access to this. In Calais, refugees have limited access to healthcare and are often afraid to seek medical attention for illness and injury. You see the best and worst of humanity there. I only want to do what’s right, to be kind and positive. If that inspires more people to welcome refugees, then love really does win.'

About First Aid Support Team (FAST)

FAST started in 2015 as a group of friends providing first aid in the so called ‘Jungle’ in Calais. From old caravans they treated more than 50 people a day. Later they developed to a travelling team assisting displaced people in different areas in Calais and Dunkirk.
Since 2019 FAST is a registered association with active members who advise our coordinators and the ground team and/or travel to the north of France to provide first aid. FAST believes that everyone should have access to first aid, whatever their status, religion or other background they may have.
